• The state capital Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is home to India's stock exchange and film industry (Bollywood), also has Asia's largest slum, 100,000 street children, child prostitution, and an alarming rise in AIDS.

• Inexplicably, teenage suicides have become an almost daily occurrence in Maharashtra - one of India's most developed states - and its capital Mumbai (Bombay). The toll of teenage suicides from the beginning of the year until 26 January 2010 stood at 32, which is more than one a day. Pray for the troubled teenagers of Mumbai that they might find the reason and purpose for living in Jesus Christ.
